Discovering King Tut’s Tomb
In 2022, to celebrate the100th anniversary of the momentous archeological discovery in Egypt, Imagine Exhibitions created Discovering King Tut’s Tomb in Las Vegas.
The exhibition presents this intriguing subject in a brand-new way. Utilizing multimedia, virtual reality, sets and objects, King Tut’s Tomb reconstructs the spectacular burial site down to the smallest detail, generating an experience that sets new standards in museology – the art of organizing, arranging and managing museums.
The first part of the exhibition transports visitors back to the world of ancient Egypt, offering a deep dive into the culture, beliefs and rituals surrounding the afterlife. Through immersive storytelling, guests follow the journey of famed archeologist Howard Carter as he unearths King Tutankhamun’s tomb.
The exhibition’s highlight is an astonishingly accurate, three-dimensional recreation of King Tut’s tomb and its treasures, frozen in time (1323 BCE) as Carter first found them. Expertly crafted replicas, produced with input from leading Egyptologists, allow guests to experience the magnificence of these priceless treasures up close, without risking the original artifacts’ preservation.
Intricate hieroglyphics, ornate relics, gilded statues, artifacts and amulets, the gilded sarcophagus, three nested coffins crafted from gold and precious minerals and King Tut’s infamous death mask await guests as they move through the exhibit.
